องค์การกาชาดฟิลิปปินส์รายงานว่า ประชาชนราว 10,000 คนที่เมือง Tacloban ติดชายฝั่งมหาสมุทรแปซิฟิก เสียชีวิตหลังจากพายุไต้ฝุ่นไห่เยี่ยนพัดถล่มภาคกลางของฟิลิปปินส์เมื่อวานนี้
ไต้ฝุ่นลูกนี้จัดเป็นซูเปอร์ไต้ฝุ่นที่มีขนาดใหญ่ที่สุดลูกหนึ่งในประวัติศาสตร์โลก มีความเร็วลมราว 315 กม.ต่อ ชม. ทำให้เกิดความเสียหายมากมายในภาคกลางของฟิลิปปินส์ซึ่งประกอบขึ้นด้วยเกาะหลายสิบเกาะ
