ตำรวจฝรั่งเศสรายงานว่ามีผู้เสียชีวิตอย่างน้อย 12 คน หลังเกิดเหตุคนร้ายบุกยิงกราดสำนักงานใหญ่ของหนังสือพิมพ์รายสัปดาห์แนวเสียดสี Charlie Hebdo ในกรุงปารีส

รายงานข่าวระบุว่า มือปืนอย่างน้อย 2 คนพร้อมปืนไรเฟิลและปืนยิงจรวด บุกเข้าไปในอาคารสำนักงานดังกล่าวขณะที่กำลังมีการประชุมกองบรรณาธิการประจำวัน ก่อนที่จะเปิดฉากยิงใส่ผู้คน จากนั้นจึงขึ้นยานพาหนะ 2 คันหลบหนีไปได้​
