นายกฯ อังกฤษ David Cameron แสดงความยินดีที่ผลการลงประชามติของชาวสก็อต แสดงให้เห็นว่าชาวสก็อตส่วนใหญ่เลือกอยู่ภายใต้การปกครองของอังกฤษต่อไป โดยหลังจากนับคะแนนทั้งหมด 32 เขต พบว่าผู้ที่เลือกอยู่กับอังกฤษชนะด้วยคะแนนเสียง 55.3% เทียบกับ 44.7% ของผู้ออกเสียงให้แยกตัวออกจากอังกฤษ การลงประชามติครั้งนี้มีผู้ออกมาใช้สิทธิ์ถึง 97%

คุณ Alistair Darling ผู้นำกลุ่มรณรงค์ "Better Together" กล่าวกับผู้สนับสนุนจากพรรคแรงงานว่า ผลการลงประชามติครั้งนี้คือคำตอบของคำถามที่สืบทอดกันมาหลายชั่วอายุคนว่า สก็อตแลนด์ควรแยกออกจากสหราชอาณาจักรหรือไม่? และคำตอบที่ได้นี้จะเปลี่ยนแปลงสก็อตแลนด์และอังกฤษไปตลอดกาล

ด้าน ปธน.สหรัฐ Barack Obama แสดงความยินดีต่อผลการลงประชามติครั้งนี้ และหวังว่าความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างสหรัฐกับสหราชอาณาจักรจะแข็งแกร่งยิ่งๆขึ้นไป ขณะที่ตลาดหุ้นต่างๆทั่วยุโรป ปรับตัวสูงขึ้นในวันศุกร์รับข่าวนี้
