"พรินซ์ โรเจอร์ เนลสัน" หรือ "พรินซ์" นักร้องและนักดนตรีมากความสามารถชาวอเมริกัน ซึ่งโด่งดังจากเพลง "1999" "Little Red Corvette" และ "Purple Rain" เสียชีวิตแล้วที่บ้านของเขาในรัฐมินเนโซต้า ขณะอายุ 57 ปี

โดยตำรวจระบุว่าพรินซ์เสียชีวิตอยู่ในลิฟท์ภายในบ้านของเขาเอง ขณะนี้ตำรวจกำลังสืบสวนสาเหตุการเสียชีวิตของตำนานนักร้องชาวอเมริกันผู้นี้

สัปดาห์ที่แล้ว เครื่ื่องบินส่วนตัวของพรินซ์ลงจอดฉุกเฉินในรัฐอิลลินอยล์ หลังจากกลับจากการแสดงคอนเสิร์ตที่รัฐจอร์เจีย ขณะที่พรินซ์ได้ถูกนำตัวส่งโรงพยาบาลทันที

พรินซ์เริ่มออกอัลบั้มชุดแรกขณะอายุเพียง 19 ปี เขามีผลงานโด่งดังตามมาอีกหลายชุดตลอดหลายสิบปีที่โลดแล่นอยู่ในวงการเพลง และดังเป็นพลุแตกเมื่อปี 1984 กับผลงานเพลงชุด "Purple Rain"

พรินซ์ขายอัลบั้มเพลงไปกว่า 100 ล้านอัลบั้ม ได้รับรางวัลแกรมมี่ 7 รางวัล และได้รับรางวัลออสการ์สาขาเพลงประกอบภาพยนตร์ยอดเยี่ยมจากเรื่อง “Purple Rain" ซึ่งเขานำแสดงเอง
