อดีตผู้บัญชาการตำรวจนครนิวยอร์ค นาย Raymond Kelly กล่าวว่า ยังมีคำถามที่ต้องหาคำตอบกันอีกหลายข้อ และตั้งคำถามว่า นาย Rahami หาวัตถุระเบิดได้จากที่ไหน เขาสร้างระเบิดที่ไหน มีรายงานว่าพบสายไฟในอพาร์ตเม้นท์ของเขา ซึ่งเหล่านี้เป็นคำถามที่เจ้าหน้าที่สืบสวนจะต้องถาม แต่ถ้าไม่ได้รับความร่วมมือจากผู้ต้องสงสัย ก็จะต้องซักถามครอบครัวและเพื่อนฝูงต่อไป

นาย Brad Garrett อดีตเจ้าหน้าที่ FBI ให้ความเห็นว่า ถ้าบุคคลผู้นี้เดินทางไปแอฟกานิสถานบ่อยๆ เจ้าหน้าที่สืบสวนโดยเฉพาะ FBI จะต้องสืบสวนให้รู้ว่า เขาไปพบใครในแอฟกานิสถาน และมีจุดประสงค์อย่างจริงจังอะไรบ้างในการเดินทางไปที่นั่น

ในขณะนี้ นาย Ahmad Rahami ถูกตั้งข้อหาว่าพยายามก่อฆาตกรรมแล้ว 5 กระทงด้วยกัน ซึ่งเป็นข้อหาสืบเนื่องมาจากการยิงต่อสู้กับเจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจในรัฐนิวเจอร์ซี่ อัยการรัฐบาลกลางสหรัฐกำลังรวบรวมหลักฐานในการวางระเบิด และคาดว่าจะมีการตั้งข้อหาเพิ่มอีก

เจ้าหน้าที่สืบสวนกล่าวด้วยว่า ไม่มีผู้ต้องสงสัยคนอื่นๆ อีกในคดี แต่ก็ยังดำเนินการสืบสวนอยู่ต่อไป
