แผ่นดินไหวความแรง 7.8 ริคเตอร์ เกิดขึ้นบริเวณชายฝั่งมหาสมุทรแปซิฟิก และรู้สึกถึงแรงสั่นสะเทือนไปทั่วประเทศ

ยอดผู้เสียชีวิตจากเหตุการณ์แผ่นดินไหวที่เอกวาดอร์เมื่อวันเสาร์ เพิ่มเป็นอย่างน้อย 246 คน และยังมีผู้สูญหายอีกหลายพันคน

รองประธานาธิบดีเอกวาดอร์ ฮอร์เก้ กลาส ระบุว่ามีผู้บาดเจ็บกว่า 2,500 คนจากแผ่นดินไหวที่มีความแรง 7.8 ริคเตอร์ ซึ่งเกิดขึ้นบริเวณชายฝั่งมหาสมุทรแปซิฟิก และรู้สึกถึงแรงสั่นสะเทือนไปทั่วประเทศ

โดยเมืองท่องเที่ยว Pedernales และเมืองชายฝั่ง Manta คือจุดที่ได้รับความเสียหายมากที่สุด
