เมื่อวันเสาร์ที่ 25 ส.ค ในงานระดมทุนของชุมชนไทยในนครชิคาโกเพื่อสนับสนุนคุณลัดดา Tammy Duckworth ลูกครึ่งไทย-อเมริกันผู้ลงสมัครรับเลือกตั้งเป็น ส.ส เขต 8 รัฐอิลลินอยล์ คุณทรงพจน์ สุภาผล ของ VOA ภาคภาษาไทยได้มีโอกาสสัมภาษณ์คุณแทมมี่ในประเด็นต่างๆ ตั้งแต่โอกาสในการเลือกตั้งครั้งนี้ วาระสำคัญที่ต้องการทำหากได้รับเลือกตั้ง นโยบายเพื่อชนกลุ่มน้อยในอเมริกา ไปจนถึงเรื่องความสัมพันธ์ไทย-สหรัฐ และมุมมองที่มีต่อชุมชนไทยในทางการเมือง

ถ้าหากว่าเราไม่มีคนไทยทำงานทางการเมือง ก็ไม่มีใครจะช่วยตัดสินใจช่วยกลุ่ม Minority ในอเมริกา.. เราจะต้องมีตัวแทนไปนั่งประชุมกัน เพื่อดูแลสิ่งที่สำคัญของ(คนไทย)เรา...
