สายการบินขนาดใหญ่ที่สุดของญี่ปุ่น ANA และ JAL สั่งห้ามเครื่องบินโบอิ้ง 787 Dreamliner บินให้บริการ หลังจากพบปัญหาทางเทคนิคที่เครื่องบินรุ่นนี้หลายลำ รวมทั้งปัญหาที่แบตเตอรี่ซึ่งทำให้เครื่องบินโดยสารโบอิ้ง 787 ของ ANA ที่มีผู้โดยสาร 129 คน ต้องลงจอดฉุกเฉินที่เมืองทากามัตสุเมื่อวันอังคาร หลังจากผู้โดยสารได้กลิ่นเหม็นไหม้ และก่อนหน้านี้เครื่องบินของ JAL ซึ่งจอดอยู่ที่สนามบินในนครบอสตันก็มีปัญหาแบตเตอรี่ไหม้เช่นกัน รวมทั้งปัญหาน้ำมันรั่วไหลและกระจกร้าวกับเครื่องบินโบอิ้ง 787 Dreamliner ของ ANA เมื่อสัปดาห์ที่แล้ว

สภาผู้แทนฯสหรัฐผ่านร่างกม.ความช่วยเหลือผู้ประสบภัยพายุเฮอริเคนแซนดี้มูลค่า 51,000 ล้านดอลล่าร์ โดยจะใช้ในการซ่อมแซมระบบคมนาคมขนส่ง ถนนและอาคารบ้านเรือนที่ถูกพายุแซนดี้ทำลายเมือเดือน ต.ค ปีที่แล้ว ขณะนี้วุฒิสภาสหรัฐกำลังพิจารณาร่างกม.ดังกล่าวก่อนที่จะส่งให้ปธน.โอบาม่าลงนาม
