Yahoo ได้ CEO คนใหม่แล้ว เธอชื่อ Marissa Mayer ซึ่งเป็นผู้บริหารจาก Google ที่ดูแลบริการด้านแผนที่และการระบุตำแหน่ง ขณะเดียวกันผลการสำรวจของ Pew Research Center ชี้ว่าหนึ่งในสามของผู้ใช้ Youtube อาศัยช่องทางนี้ในการติดตามข่าวสาร
ในเรื่องเศรษฐกิจ กองทุนการเงินระหว่างประเทศ หรือ IMF (International Monetary Fund) ลดตัวเลขคาดการณ์การขยายตัวของเศรษฐกิจโลกปีนี้เหลือ 3.5% เพื่อสะท้อนปัญหาในยุโรปและการที่ประเทศเศรษฐกิจโตเร็วไม่ได้ขยายตัวในอัตราที่สูงอย่างที่คาดไว้ก่อนหน้านี้

ทางด้านสหรัฐ นักวิเคราะห์จาก National Defense University ทำสำรวจและพบว่าความไม่ลงรอยกันทางการเมืองของพรรค Republican และ Democrat อาจทำให้นโยบายกระตุ้นเศรษฐกิจชะงักได้ และมีผลทำให้ความมั่นใจผู้บริโภคลดลง

อีกด้านหนึ่งองค์การการค้าโลกหรือ WTO (World Trade Organization) ติดสินว่าจีนกีดกันทางการค้าต่อบริษัทบัตรเครดิตของสหรัฐที่ทำธุรกิจในจีน ส่วนในวงการสื่อ Microsoft ขายหุ้นของตนใน website ข่าว msnbc.com ให้กับบริษัท Comcast และมีแผนจะทำ website ข่าวของตนเองปีหน้า
