ทวีปแอฟริกามีผู้หญิงคนแรกที่เป็นเศรษฐีพันล้านจากการจัดอันดับของนิตยสาร Forbes สตรีวัย 40 ปีผู้นี้ชื่อ Isabel dos Santos เป็นลูกสาวของประธานาธิบดี Jose Eduardo dos Santos ของประเทศแองโกลา ทรัพย์สินจำนวนมากของเธอเป็นหุ้นในบริษ้ทที่ประเทศโปรตุเกสหลายแห่ง รวมทั้งธนาคารแห่งหนึ่งในแองโกลาอีกด้วย

ประธานาธิบดี Obama แต่งตั้งเจ้าหน้าที่สูงสุดที่ดูแลองค์การที่ช่วยพิทักษ์นักลงทุนและผู้ใช้บริการการเงิน ตำแหน่งแรกคือหัวหน้านคณะกรรมการกำกับหลักทรัพย์และตลาดหลักทรัพย์ หรือ Securities and Exchange Commission อีกตำแหน่งคือผู้อำนวยการ Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ที่ทำหน้าที่ดูและสวัสดิภาพและความยุติธรรมต่อลุกค้าบัตรเครดิตและผู้กู้เงินซื้อบ้าน

Burger King เลิกซื้อเนื้อจากบริษัท Ireland ที่ชื่อ Silvercrest Foods ซึ่งถูกตรวจพบ DNA ม้าในชิ้นเนื้อแฮมเบอร์เกอร์ แม้ขณะนี้ไม่พบเนื้อที่มีปัญหาในส่วนที่ขายให้กับ Burger King ก็ตาม
ปัญหาราคาอาหารไก่แพงทำให้ผู้ผลิตไก่ลดการผลิตไก่ในสหรัฐลง 1% และนั่นอาจทำให้มีปีกไก่ทอดหรืออบซอสซึ่งเป็นอาหารที่คนอเมริกันนิยมรับประทานคืนแข่ง Super Bowl ลดลงในปีนี้ ที่ราคาอาหารไก่แพงเพราะราคาข้าวโพดเตะจุดสูงสุดในปีที่แล้ว ทั้งนี้ข้าวโพดคิดเป็น 2 ใน 3 ของต้นทุนการผลิตอาหารไก่
